$50.00

2017 Safe Sitter

Safe Sitters prepares young teens  to be safe when they are home alone, babysitting or watching younger siblings.  The Safe Sitter curriculum is designed exclusively for young teens in grades 6 through 8 (11 – 14 years old) and covers the following areas: safety skills, child care skills, first aid and rescue skills including CPR, and life and business skills.

At Safe Sitter you will learn how to:

  • Rescue a choking child or infant plus ways to prevent choking in the first place.
  • How to give CPR to an infant and young child.
  • Prevent problem behavior plus how to manage problem behavior situations.
  • Keep yourself safe in threatening situations from power failures to prowlers.
  • Care for a child’s basic needs including feeding, entertaining and toileting.
  • Establish your own babysitting business.

The one day class will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 P.m. Pre-registration is required as the class size is limited. The registration cost is $50, and includes the cost of the official safe Sitter student handbook, lunch and completion card. Students scholarships are available to students whose families cannot afford the normal fee. For more information and/or to register call 817-598-6168.
